EDENSONG’S NEVERENDING ALBUM: MIXING BEGINS. SO DOES YOUNG MASTER SPLINTER (POST # 8)

GREETINGS Earth brethrEN!  It has been 7 years since the last blog post, so I thought I’d update you.  MIXING starts this week.  I know I joke on this blog; I know I lie.  But this sir, madam, friend of any beast, is NOT A LIE.  As much as I want to deny it, the NEVERENDING album needs to end (in terms of becoming a complete entity that can be heard at every corner of the world but only played on prog radio shows with 3 listeners [including the DJ]). Yes, folks, soon you’ll be able to hear what we’ve been working on for the past 5 years – you won’t be disappointed.  If you are disappointed, I will bake you a KRISPY KREME donut from scratch (for people who do not know this kind of donut, I will bake you the equivalent of what you have in your area or country, for example, in Japan, they have Mr. Donut, I use commas too much and incorrectly,,,).

To celebrate the start of mixing, I will tell you that I stayed up with James Schoen to have the guitars re-recorded through re-amping.  We were in the studio from 4 pmish until 9 in the morning doing this.  James did all of the work and I basically slept but did get up several times to shut off the air conditioner and the ventilation almost every time.  So, you can thank James for the guitar re-amping and thank me for not having air conditioning and ventilation on the album.

To celebrate the start of mixing yet again, I have decided to cut my hair, gain some weight, and turn into what a young Master Splinter of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ story may have looked like in his youth. James is also here without his Super Paul Bunyan ZZ top hipster beard. We venture back to my alma mater to re-record the Indonesian gamelan parts on the album. Below is the video and explanation of the instruments.  You’ll have to stick around for a future blog to even hear one of these babies!!!!
Peace, love, drumsticks, TWIX©, Mighty Spoonfuls (drum fills) of Lovin’,
TONY
